Campgrounds in the Pitkin District are located on the eastern side of the Gunnison National Forest. Adventures abound with idyllic locations for camping, fishing, hiking, climbing, canoing, 4wheeling, mountain biking and overall exploring.
Wildlife watching in the area could include views of deer, bull elk, moose, bear, big horn sheep, marmot and fox.
