Why is there a Day-Use Fee?
Your $8 directly supports the maintenance and sustainability of local recreation sites. These fees not only help keep facilities open to the public, but also allow us to enhance and improve them for future visitors.
Your Day-Use Fees at Work
Each day-use fee directly supports the care and enhancement of the lakes, campgrounds, and day use areas in the community, maintaining these valued spaces for all to enjoy. Through a partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, a portion of these fees is reinvested locally via the Granger-Thye Act—a program that authorizes the Forest Service to collaborate with partners on improvement projects at National Forest facilities.
This year's approved projects include:
$50,000 invested at Cataract Lake
$22,000 invested at Dogtown Lake
Day-Use Fees make these improvements possible:
Repairs to picnic areas and boat launches
Facility upgrades and improvements
Projects that make these spaces more enjoyable and accessible
Clean and stocked bathrooms
Trash service, On-site staff
Keeping facilities open without risk of government closures
Frequent visitors might consider a Season Day Use Pass, good for one calendar year.
